Vineyard located in El Bierzo. The Mencia plots are located in Espanillo at 700 meters altitude, the average age of the vineyard is 80 years.

Soil

The soil is decomposed slate with sandy areas, the soil is worked in a traditional way with three passes with plows pulled by two cows.

Prepared by

After a manual harvest in boxes, the grapes are selected, destemmed and crushed. Then it goes directly into a 2500L foudre where it undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, remaining in this foudre until it is racked for bottling. The aging time is 11 months for the 2012 vintage. The bottling without filtration is done with a slight clarification.
