A new generation of winegrowers
Bordelaisian by origin, Berciano at heart
Graduated from the Bordeaux School of Oenology and Viticulture of Blanquefort in 1998. He has developed his work at Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste and especially at Château Cos dEstournel between 1997 and 2000. After his first steps in France, his family roots and the push of a friend brought him to Spain and specifically to Bierzo.
Grégory Pérez is one of the members of the new generation called to take over the production of the great wines of Spain from his Mengoba winery. A project in which he devotes all his energy and which shares with his fellow generation a philosophy that seeks respect and sustainability of the vineyard. These principles are bringing to light natural wines with the personality of each "terroir".
the vineyards of espanillo
Bierzo in its purest form.
The vineyards are located in the town of Espanillo, in the Bierzo region, at the headwaters of the Cúa River.
They are located on steep slopes at an altitude of more than 600 m above sea level, oriented towards midday and ventilated by constant air currents.
The soil is composed of a mixture of clay and decomposed slate, within a wooded environment of great natural diversity.
